Brief
The museum’s botany collection was brilliant and static. They wanted visitors to feel inside a plant, not look at one.
Idea
Twelve metres of mirrored wall and three projectors, fed by a live camera in the museum’s own greenhouse.
Build
Thirty weeks, from a scale model in the studio to a night-shift installation with a sound designer.
Launch
The room opened with the wing. Queues for it were longer than for the dinosaurs.
After
People lingered. Schools booked return visits, and the hall became the place to be on a rainy Sunday.
